The vision... I see it, I feel it. I live it.
We all live it to some capacity.
What I've learned over the last few years is that it truly doesn't matter what you're doing, as long as you're doing it to the best of your ability. Now, this is a very easy phrase to mumble - but are you truly trying your hardest? No... At least I'm not.
Until a few months ago I thought I had been. Sure, I was kicking my ass at the gym, setting a PR here and there, but what I've realized is that my close-mindedness was keeping me from continued progression. I was doing just as the little piece of paper told me to do, and I was doing it well. And.... I was stalling.
"Your Hardest".... In my opinion, requires MUCH more than physical output. "Your Hardest" means using that damn brain of yours for more than you have before. Yes - Listen to others, but more/most importantly - Listen to yourself.
Do NOT fall into a pit of "just because".... Just because it worked for "Joe Blow" does not mean it will work for you. As a matter of fact, I've come to realize that most of the time it won't work for me. (Training, Nutrition, etc.)
So - This is nothing novel, nothing I can really take credit for... However, what I can tell you is that I figured out how to pick my ass up out of this pit. And that, I can credit to figuring out all by my damn self...
The point I am making is LISTEN to everyone else, and THEN listen yourself. If it sounds like it may work for you.... fuck what you know and try it.
This is what I see in the Project Dad Strength mentality... A mantra that I believe in. And I think if you REALLLLLY try your hardest on EVERY level, every facet of life - You'd agree that you haven't hit it yet. The best has yet to come, and it's only up from here.
Now go smash something....
